The nearest town Bantry is a 15 minute drive, and has a supermarket, gift shops and lots of restaurants and pubs. Gougane Barra Forest Park is nearby and is a location worth visiting for a walk with either the dogs or children, it is threaded through with great streams to play in and lots of picnic areas. It has a very Lord of the Rings feel about it, and is easily accessed by car. There are sandy beaches at Barley Cove and Toormore which are within an hours drive of the property. More rocky beaches are much nearer. There is lots of fishing (river,lake and sea) in locality. Guided fishing by arrangement and seperate pricing. The village of Glengariff has an amazing forest park, sculpture park, also boat trips to Garnish Island and lots of restaurants and pubs. Bantry golf course and glengariff golf course are both within a 15 minute drive.
