The cottage resort Quinta da Altamira is situated in the picturesque and up scale village of Caloura on the south coast of São Miguel. Caloura is characterized by larger estates as well as occasional holiday home and is known for its peace and tranquility. Caloura is also centrally-located, making it possible to explore all the island without excessive driving. The upper grounds of Quinta Altamira are landscaped like a park, whereas the coastal area has been left in its natural state. Cultivated areas for fruit and vegetables are spread-out over the estate. Not only its size (67000 m² / 16½ acres), but also the unique structuring of the property with hedges and natural stone walls, contributes to the feeling of spaciousness and privacy. Walks over the Quinta Altamira, again and again, open fantastic outlooks over the Atlantic.
