Le Ginestre offers a unique opportunity to experience the peace and tranquillity of the Umbrian countryside, close to Lake Trasimeno (20 km) and with many major sightseeing towns within 1 hours drive or less. These include Panacale, Perugia, Assisi, Montepulciano, Siena, Spoleto, Montefalco and Orvieto to mention just a few of the many places in the area to visit. For those that would like a break from driving, the trip to Rome, Florence and many other destinations can be made easily by train from Chiusi or Orvieto both of which offer a fast and reliable service. The neighbouring village of Castiglion Fosco, just 3.5 km down the road offers a good Alimentari with butchers and fresh bread; a Farmacia, 24hr Petrol Station and Café.
