Mill Cottage is a comfortably furnished, fully equipped and carefully restored olive mill in rural Andalucia. Many of the original features such as the beamed ceilings and terracotta tiled floors have been preserved and it now has a modern kitchen and comfortable bedrooms with en-suite facilities. There is large heated swimming pool below and the extensive terraces have fine views of El Torcal and the surrounding hills. The Mountains of Malaga can be seen in the distance and the Campanillas River runs below the house. Here you can stroll along the bank, watch the turtles and listen to the frog chorus or walk further into the beautiful surrounding countryside. (We provide information on local walks.) It is an ideal site for a relaxing holiday and, being a short drive from the motorway network, it is an excellent base from which to explore AndaluciaYou will find everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable holiday. The cottage is centrally heated and there are air conditioners in the spacious bedrooms, which also have room for a cot. The kitchen has everything you would expect including a dishwasher and a microwave and the utility room has a washing machine and a second fridge. Both fridges have freezing compartments. The living area seats four people comfortably and there is plenty of space to eat inside or on the large private terrace (a high chair can be supplied). These typical small Spanish towns have restaurants, bars, banks, supermarkets and medical facilities. The little village of Arroyo Coche is a 20 minute walk or a 3 minute drive. This has a baker’s, a bar where you can get tapas or a meal, and a village shop. There is a hotel and a bar/restaurant within a 5 minute drive of the house and another one at nearby Pastelero, a 10 minute drive down the track (or an hour or so’s walk if you feel energetic). Most days you can find a local market somewhere in the area. These contrasting places are all worth a visit. There are good walks and plenty of bird watching near the house. Two mountain bikes are available for hire for the more energetic. Antequera itself is a very attractive town with historic churches and buildings, a Moorish castle and ancient dolmens.
