Casa Portagioia is a small estate in Castiglion Fiorentino near Cortona which has several rooms and apartments available. With excellent privacy, a heated swimming pool and gorgeous scenery, it is perfect for a peaceful break in the countryside or to explore the delights of Tuscany. Casa Portagioia is nestled in the beautiful Valle di Chio (or Valley of God as the locals refer to it) with olive groves and typical Tuscan countryside of rolling hills and green vegetation. From here you can explore the local countryside on foot or by bikes (available on site).

Our 14 meter (46’ x 23’) solar heated swimming pool with sun terraces is set on a small hillside with panoramic views of the valley and the small Tuscan hillside villages nearby.

The area: The main town is Castiglion Fiorentino, a medieval town with Etruscan heritage. From here you can visit Cortona and Arezzo which are about 15 minutes away or, within an hours drive you are able to visit many Tuscan and Ubrian towns such as Florence, Siena, Assisi, the Chianti region, Montepulciano - to name but a few. There is a train station at Castiglion with trains to Rome and Florence - although faster express trains are available from Arezzo
